First of all I would like to start by saying SORRY ! I know I have been away for long, but I would rather blame it on my laziness than my busy schedule ( A 9 to 5 after all ! )
I have been up to quite a lot while I was away and one of the experiments is featured in this blog ! Yes the title is not deceiving .. I did make Chocolate Croissant Pudding !
Did you ever face a scenario where you bought that box of fresh hot chocolate croissants but did not know what to do with it the next day when it wasn’t so fresh anymore ? Well, I’ve come up with a solution for you !
Its fairly easy to prepare and just so heavenly. One bowl is just not enough to sate your appetite and this I promise you ! Ready to tingle that sweet tooth ? Here we go !
- 10 Chocolate Croissants
- 250 gms Butter
- 2 eggs
- 100 gms Sugar
- 1 Packet Heavy Cream
- 250 ml Full Cream Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
- 1 tsp Cinnamon Powder (optional)
So to begin with, combine the butter and sugar in a bowl and keep whisking till the sugar dissolves into the butter and becomes creamy. Then add the eggs in and whisk till its fluffy and frothy. In a separate bowl/jug combine the cream and milk and add it into the butter mixture very slowly while whisking. Lastly add the vanilla essence including the cinnamon powder if you would like and leave aside.
Preheat your oven for 15 minutes. Take a baking dish and spread butter all over till it covers the whole dish. Break the croissants into medium size pieces until it forms a layer. Once that is done, add the prepared mixture till it soaks the croissants but do make sure that you don’t fill it to the brim but just half way through. Then put it in to bake for around 20 minutes or until the custard is set and your pudding is nice and springy.
Look at that beauty ! Don’t you feel like diving into it right away ?
Enjoy the pudding while its hot and add some vanilla ice cream to it to make it heavenly ! Leave a comment and do let me know if you tried it out !
Until my next blog which is hopefully soon 😛 .. Happy Eating !!
